Jacob Schell
Jacob was born in Odessa, Russia on July 29, 1896. Some time in the early 20th century his family immigrated to the United States and Jacob was nationalized sometime later. The Schell’s owned a farm (somewhere in Fallon County) and Jacob worked as a farm hand for his father Henry.
From the information gathered Jacob left Fallon County August 15, 1918. His actual draft paper was signed on July 13, 1819. There is little information about whether or not Jacob was actually deployed, but he was a private and was honorably discharged from the military March 12th, 1919.
After Jacob was discharged he married in 1923, Emma Herble in Mount City, SD. Emma was living with her parents in SD. He and Emma went on to have four kids Elizabeth Bertha, Lillian Freda, Melvin Fredrick, and Vernon Eldon. and he and Emma owned their own farm in Prairie Park in Fallon County (around 1930) outside of Plevna in Fallon County. On February 1972 he had passed was buried in the Plevna cemetery.
